Journal of Energy and Power Technology Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Mehrdad Massoudi from Carnegie Mellon University, United States, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology. He studied mechanical engineering at University of Pittsburgh [B. S. (1979), M.S. (1981), and PhD (1986)]. Since then, he has been a full-time researcher at the Department of Energy in Pittsburgh. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Biomedical Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and a visiting scholar at the Center for Nonlinear Analysis (CNA) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at CMU. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 technical papers and reports. A Fellow of ASME (2003) (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), he has edited and co-edited a few books on structured continua. fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Journal of Energy and Power Technology Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Badie Morsi from University of Pittsburgh, United States, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology. Professor Morsi received his Bachelor’s Degree (BS, 1972) in Petroleum Engineering from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt; and Diplôme des Études Approfondies, (MS, 1977), Doctorat d'Ingénieur (PhD, 1979) and Doctorat ès Sciences Physique (ScD, 1982) in Chemical Engineering from the Université de Lorraine, Nancy, France (formerly, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques (ENSIC), Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (INPL). Professor Morsi joined the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh in 1982 and he is currently the Director of the Petroleum Engineering Program at the Swanson School of Engineering. He is also serving as the Executive Director of the Annual International Pittsburgh Coal Conference. Professor Morsi's research activities include different aspects of chemical, environmental, and petroleum engineering. He authored and co-authored numerous technical papers and delivered many presentations and invited talks at different national and international meetings and leading organizations worldwide. Professor Morsi has been serving as a consultant to several major national and international organizations and as a reviewer to numerous prominent institutions and journals in chemical, environmental and petroleum engineering. He is also serving as Editor-in Chief of Fuels, Associate Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Clean Coal and Energy, and a member of the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Chemical Engineering, Journal of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering, American Research Journal of Earth Science, SciFed Journal of Global Warming, and Trends in Chemical Engineering and Processing Technology.

Professor Morsi received many honors and awards, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers Eastern North America Regional Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty (2020); the ORISE Faculty Fellow (2005-2008 and 2022-presnt); George M. and Eva M. Bevier Professorship (2001-2005); the Beitle-Veltri School of Engineering Teaching Award (1999); and the CNG Faculty Fellow (1991- 1995).

Journal of Energy and Power Technology Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Dr. Diogo M. F. Santos from Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology. He received a M.Sc. degree in 2006 and a Ph.D. degree in electrochemistry in 2009. His Ph.D. thesis was devoted to the development of the direct borohydride fuel cell. He did a 3-year post-doc in Chemical Engineering in FEUP (Porto University) and IST studying new electrocatalytic materials for hydrogen production by alkaline water electrolysis. Afterward, he did a 2-year post-doc in Materials Science & Engineering developing cathodes for direct borohydride fuel cells in IST and CICECO (Aveiro University). As an Investigador FCT in CeFEMA (2015-2020) he developed low-cost electrocatalysts for application in low-temperature fuel cells. D.M.F. Santos has authored over 140 journal papers and 96 conference proceedings. His current h index is 32 (SCOPUS). D.M.F. Santos is on the “World’s Top 2% Scientists list” of Stanford University for the impact in 2020. He has presented 74 oral communications and 80 posters at international conferences. He is a member of several renowned international societies and serves as a reviewer for over 80 different scientific journals. D.M.F. Santos is currently the supervisor of 1 Ph.D. student and 2 M.Sc. students. He has completed the supervision of 1 Postdoc researcher, 1 Ph.D. student, 17 M.Sc. students, and 10 research internships. D.M.F. Santos has been involved in national and international projects and is currently Working Group Leader of WIRE COST Action in “Waste biorefinery technologies for accelerating sustainable energy processes” (CA20127). His main research interests are related to electrochemical energy conversion and storage. We appreciate Dr. Santos for his participation and support.

Journal of Energy and Power Technology Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Antonio Lecuona from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology. Born in 1953, became Aeronautical Engineer in 1975. He performed his PhD on laser driven fusion in the School of Aeronautics at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where he was appointed as associate professor in 1975 on internal combustion engines. Visiting professor at Stanford University from 1986 to 1987, HTGL. In 1991 He was appointed to begin the engineering studies at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as Vice-chancellor. For this endeavour he was awarded the highest honour on education in Spain “Encomienda de Alfonso X El Sabio”, 1996. He has participated in 11 competitive research projects from the European Commission. (Co)author of 10 patents and about 100 publications and three books. His recent research experience covers from advanced diagnostic techniques for industrial flows to solar thermal energy for industries and vulnerable communities. Journal of Energy and Power Technology Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Shuguang Deng from Arizona State University, USA, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology. Professor Deng's research interests include adsorbents, catalysts and membranes for sustainable energy and clean water applications. He received his doctorate from University of Cincinnati in 1996, and worked as a lead research engineer in The BOC Group in New Jersey before joining NMSU in 2003. He became an associate professor in 2006 and professor in 2009. Deng was a research and development manager in Nanjing Refinery, SINOPEC, China before coming to America in 1992 to pursue his doctorate in chemical engineering. He has had a wide experience both as a research and development engineer and in academia. Prior to joining ASU, Deng was the Distinguished Bob Davis Professor at New Mexico State University (NMSU). We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Theocharis Tsoutsos from Technical University of Crete, Greece, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology. Since 2005 he is Founder and Director of Renewable and Sustainable Energy systems Lab (ReSEL). He has been Director Graduate Programme "Environmental Engineering" (2014-2018) and Coordinator of the TUC-Energy Group (2013-2017). Professor Tsoutsos has coordinated more than 40 research projects on Sustainable Development, Energy and Mobility and participated in more than 100 totally funded by FP5, FP6, FP7, H2020, IEE, THERMIE, MED, INTERREG, COST, Jean Monnet. He is the author of more than 120 publications in international scientific peer-reviewed journals, 20 book chapters, 200 conference. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Iqbal from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology.  Professor Iqbal completed his B.Sc.(EE) at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 1986, M.Sc. Nuclear Engineering at CNS, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad in 1988 and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Imperial College London in 1994. From 1988 to 1991 and again from 1995 to 1999, he worked at Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), Islamabad. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as an Associate Professor at Riphah International University. Since 2001, he is working at Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University of Newfoundland. he teaches many electrical engineering courses e.g. electrical engineering design, process control and instrumentation, renewable energy systems, filters synthesis. Currently, his research focuses on modeling and control of hybrid renewable energy systems and he has strong interest in consumer electronics and instrumentation. Journal of Energy and Power Technology Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Dr. Islam Md Rizwanul Fattah from University of Technology Sydney, Australia, to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Energy and Power Technology.  Dr. Fattah is a Research Fellow in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and IT at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), researching the effective use of waste for sustainable energy applications. He has accomplished his PhD in reducing PM and soot emissions from diesel combustion from the University of New South Wales (UNSW, Sydney) in 2019. Previously, he completed his Master of Engineering Science from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2014 and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2011. He has been actively engaged since 2012 by publishing over 90 articles and gaining over 6000 citations of his works. He also has peer-reviewed over 275 WOS-indexed journals throughout his career. Degree cum laude in Civil Engineering at the University of Pavia, Ph.D. In Environmental Engineering at Marquette University in Milwaukee (USA). Currently Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Pavia, has held various visiting academic positions at: Marquette University (adjunct), Alexandria University (Egypt), Al-Balqua University (Amman, Jordan), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), Bratislava Polytechnic (Slovakia). Current research interests include: advanced water and wastewater treatment processes, technological applications sustainability, resources recovery from waste and wastewater.
