TY - JOUR AU - Ramos Díaz, Natalia PY - 2019 DA - 2019/03/14 TI - Proposal for a Compassionate Emotional Accompaniment Technique (CEAT) Based on Mindfulness to Manage Disturbing Emotions JO - OBM Integrative and Complementary Medicine SP - 017 VL - 04 IS - 01 AB - One of the objectives of psychological intervention is to help individuals manage their emotions effectively by providing patients the necessary tools to accompany their own emotional states. Furthermore, at present there are not so many therapeutic resources aimed at facilitating emotions in patients, nor helping them with their regulation. Taking as a frame of reference the Model of Psychological Flexibility, which defines "mindfulness" as a practice that facilitates some of the processes necessary for adequate psychological health (Hayes, Strosahl & Wilson, 2014), the proposal presented here focuses on facilitating the processes of acceptance and flexible attention to the present moment. The Compassionate Emotional Accompaniment Technique (CEAT) (Ramos, 2015. Ramos, in press) has its origin in the Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence Program (PINEP) (Ramos, Recondo and Enríquez, 2012). Both of these have been proposed in this article as facilitators of conscious emotional management, using the mindfulness tool as the main therapeutic resource, which could be especially promising to develop the processes of Acceptance and Being Present raised within the reference model.
