The global food chain system is the single largest source of greenhouse gasses in the world, and the largest cause of biodiversity loss, terrestrial ecosystem destruction, freshwater consumption, and waterway pollution, due to the mismanagement of biocides and nutrients. On top of these deficiencies, approximately 40% of all produced food is wasted throughout farm-to-fork processes, while more than 900 million people remain undernourished. The margin for improvement of the global food chain system is therefore huge, and may unlock pathways towards the stability of the Earth's ecosystem and a better future for humanity.
Against this background, the RETASTE Conference initiates a dialogue for innovative solutions and optimization schemes that exploit significant opportunities for food waste reduction, reuse, and recycling at all stages of the food life cycle, as well as their scalability and commercial translatability. In parallel, RETASTE aims to address the social aspects of food waste issues, as well as to highlight ways to tackle social and perception barriers against reducing our environmental footprint, thus shifting the evolving future of social, market, and global megatrends.
Through the conservation of resources, the strengthening of the social fabric, and the development of new value chains, RETASTE supports the implementation of the Circular Economy concept.
The audience of RETASTE includes academia, industry, and stakeholders, and is truly transdisciplinary, as dictated by the topics of the conference.

Dear Colleagues, Friends and Visitors
I am delighted to invite you to take part in the 19th International Plant Nutrition Colloquium (IPNC).
The Colloquium will be held from August 22 to 27, 2022 in Iguassu Falls, State of Paraná, Brazil. The venue will be Mabu Thermas Resort.
Since its beginning in the early 1950s, the IPNC has grown to become the most important international meeting on fundamental and applied plant nutrition. Building on the success of previous IPNC meetings, more than 800 participants from all over the world are expected in Iguazu Falls. The main theme of the 19th International Plant Nutrition Colloquium is: "Stepping forward to Global Nutrient Use Efficiency". This theme has been chosen to highlight that plant nutrients, fundamental for successful intensification of global crop production can pose an environmental risk if not well used. This intensification is required to meet the demands of the future bio-based society for nutritious food, feed, raw materials, and energy.
The colloquium will provide an excellent forum for the exchange and transfer of knowledge, information and ideas as well as for the creation of new collaborations and fostering synergies in the fields of plant mineral nutrition, plant molecular biology, plant genetics, agronomy, horticulture, ecology, environmental sciences and fertilizer use and production. We invite you to present the recent results of your research related to the different aspects of plant mineral nutrition.
Please, visit our website regularly for updates and news on the colloquium. I look very much forward to seeing you in Iguazu Falls.
Sincerely,
Professor Ciro A. Rosolem

To our deep regret, with the rapid outbreak of the new delta variant of Covid-19 and with travel restrictions applied both within the UK and especially from abroad, we have concluded that it will not be feasible to hold UKHTC-2021 in September, 2021. We have, however, secured alternative dates at the same venue in Spring
2022 by which time we trust that the virus will have been fully contained. The new dates for the conference will be April 3-5, 2022.We will be updating the website with further details, including revised submission deadlines, in the weeks ahead.
The 17th UK Heat Transfer Conference will be held at the university where Osborne Reynolds and Thomas Stanton undertook their pioneering researches!
