About This Topic
Environmental protection is always a contentious issue due to the vast and severe environmental degradation caused by a variety of reasons, such as land-cover disputes, land-use changes, land desertification, flooding, volcanic eruptions, wildfires, glaciation of landmasses and ice shields. Many of these environmental disasters have both natural and anthropogenic causes, thus, necessitating human protection, measures and policies to the extent that environmental management serves the benefits and prosperity of humankind and environmental restoration. This special issue calls for contributions from research or real world cases on relating both economic valuation and environmental economics with environmental management proposals made for a wide spectrum of Earth surface changes, considering that such changes have accelerated over the last century and are anticipated to further increase in the future. Original research reports, case studies of regional interest, socio-environmental problem-solving approaches of local significance, review articles, follow-up studies, communications and perspectives are welcome in all areas pertinent to the topic. All accepted papers will be published totally free of charge.
