About This Topic
Moral injury, characterized by the profound emotional and psychological distress resulting from actions or experiences that violate an individual’s moral or ethical beliefs, has emerged as a crucial area of study in healthcare. As clinicians, nurses, and other professionals navigate complex ethical dilemmas, the impact of moral injury on mental health, burnout, and job satisfaction has become increasingly apparent. This special edition aims to deepen our understanding of moral injury within clinical contexts, offering insights into its definitions, assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions. Contributions are invited to explore case studies, frameworks, and practical strategies for addressing moral injury, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
