Journal of Energy and Power Technology (JEPT) is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal published quarterly online by LIDSEN Publishing Inc. About This Topic
The importance of hydrogen energy in achieving a sustainable energy future is being increasingly acknowledged. Progress in hydrogen technology seeks to establish it as a feasible and widely adopted substitute for fossil fuels. Progress in electrolysis, especially with sustainable energy sources, is enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of green hydrogen generation. Proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers and solid oxide electrolyzers are leading-edge innovations. Researchers are now working on developing advanced materials, such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and chemical hydrides, to enhance the safety and compactness of hydrogen storage. Advancements in the compression and liquefaction of hydrogen are simplifying its storage and transportation, which is essential for its extensive use in many applications. The progress in hydrogen energy is creating a path toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy environment. Through the resolution of obstacles of production, storage, and distribution, and with the aid of favorable policies and investments, hydrogen has the potential to significantly diminish worldwide carbon emissions and attain energy security. To effectively harness the potential of hydrogen energy in advancing towards a sustainable future, it is crucial to maintain ongoing innovation and cooperation across many businesses and governments.
