Recent Progress in Materials is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal published quarterly online by LIDSEN Publishing Inc. This periodical is devoted to publishing high-quality papers that describe the most significant and cutting-edge research in all areas of Materials. Recent Progress in Materials publishes original high quality experimental and theoretical papers and reviews on basic and applied research in the field of materials science and engineering, with focus on synthesis, processing, constitution, and properties of all classes of materials. About the topic:
Increasing affluent lifestyle in the past few decades in many countries around the world has led to a rapid rise in the solid waste generation. The main environmental problem is the leachate production which can contaminate the surface water and the groundwater. This leachate is characterized by high concentrations of organic and inorganic compounds. If a reasonably economical way to treat the leachate and safely dispose of it can be found, a big step toward the sustainable development can be achieved. Hence, this Special Issue is dedicated to advances and new trends in leachate treatments. Subject areas may include but are not limited to anaerobic and aerobic processes, chemical oxidation, adsorption, chemical precipitation, coagulation/flocculation, air stripping and flotation/sedimentation, and processes of membrane.
