Recent Progress in Nutrition Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Paolo Bellavite, from University of Verona, Italy, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. He graduated in Medicine in 1976 at Trieste University. He then specialized in Hematology, got a Master in Biotechnology from Cranfield University (U.K.) and a perfectioning degree in Health Statistics and Epidemiology. Since 1984 he has been professor of General Pathology at Verona university (I), until may 2017, then he's doing research as expert supervisor. He and his group have developed research on the molecular, cellular and pharmacological aspects of inflammation, with special reference to granulocytes and macrophages, free radical formation and toxicity, platelet function and regulation. He also developed studies on epistemology, history of medicine, vaccination, bioethics. He is author of more than 250 scientific papers, over 140 of which are cited in PubMed database. Recent Progress in Nutrition Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Dr. Song-young Park, from University of Nebraska, USA, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. He joined the School of Health& Kinesiology in 2017 after completing his post-doctoral research fellowship in department of cardiology at Boston University School of Medicine. He earned his PhD in integrative physiology from the University of Utah in 2015. Utilizing an integrative approach that combines both in-vivo and in-vitro techniques, Dr. Song-young Park's research examines the impact of age and disease on vascular function and blood pressure regulation. He is specifically focused on the complex interactions of endothelial function, oxidative stress, and vascular function in terms of blood pressure regulation in diseased populations including peripheral artery disease (PAD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, and hypertension. He is also interested in the impacts of age and cardiovascular disease on blood flow in the brain. We appreciate Dr. Park for his participation and support.

Recent Progress in Nutrition Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Dr. Richard Mackenzie, from University of Roehampton, UK, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. He completed his PhD: Acute Hypoxia & Exercise Metabolism in Type 2 Diabetes (University of Brighton) in 2009. Following an RAE funded research position at Brighton, Dr Mackenzie took up a lectureship at the University of Westminster in 2008 before his moved to University of Roehampton to take up a Readership in Insulin Resistance and Metabolism. He is the recipient of the The Endocrine Society 93rd Annual Eugenia Rosemberg Award  and is also Research Director for the Sport & Exercise Science Research Group at Roehampton University. Dr Mackenzie's research interests are to understand the role of fat, glucose and protein metabolism in both health & disease physiology. We appreciate Dr. Mackenzie for his participation and support.

We sincerely welcome Dr. Tassos Koidis, from Queen's University Belfast, UK, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. He is the author of more than 50 peer review papers 10 book chapters and several technical reports in the fields of food quality and processing focusing of vegetables, fruits and the properties of vegetable oils such as olive and palm oil. Apart from his interest in bioactive components, their recovery and their activity, his recent research interests expand in the use of vibrational spectroscopy and chemometrics in the detection of food authenticity. Recent Progress in Nutrition Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Dr. Daniel Rico Bargues, from Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León, Spain, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. He is a Doctor in Food Science and Technology from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid. His research experience has been developed in the field of food processing mainly, both as a graduate researcher, doctor and senior doctor at the Dublin Institute of Technology, and as a doctoral researcher at the Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León, where he currently works. in the Innovation and Process Optimization Area.

In his current position at the Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León, he works in contact with the business sector, given the role that the institute plays in advising and transferring knowledge to the agri-food sector. In addition to the work of maintaining lines of research in food processing, he is currently coordinator of two competitive projects, one of collaboration between different universities (INIA funding) on ​​the development of healthy foods and the other (the technical part) led by a company in the cereal transformation sector for the development of innovative and healthy products (CDTI). His teaching work has been previously developed at the Dublin Institute of Technology, at the Public University of Navarra and at the University of Burgos. Recent Progress in Nutrition Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Anibh Martin Das, from Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Germany, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. After undergraduate studies of medicine at Göttingen University he was a scholar of the ‘Max-Planck Society’ in Göttingen (Germany) where he worked in respiratory physiology, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford (UK) where his focus of research was the regulation of cardiac energy metabolism. Prof. Das trained in Paediatrics at Hannover Medical School and University Clinics Hamburg-Eppendorf (Germany).

His special interest is in Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Neuropaediatrics with a research focus on energy metabolism, amino acid metabolism and lysosomal storage diseases. He has also obtained experience in Newborn screening at the ‘Screening Laboratory Hannover’.

Prof. Das is member of the scientific advisory board of the ‘German Society for Muscle Diseases’, the ‘Centre for Systems Neurosciences’ in Hannover and the ’Centre for Rare Diseases’ as well as the ‘Ethical Review Board’ at Hannover Medical School. He is visiting professor at the University of Manipal (India). We appreciate Prof. Das for his participation and support.

Recent Progress in Nutrition Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Yung-Po Liaw, from Chung Shan Medical University, Taiwan, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a master's degree in biostatistics and a doctorate in epidemiology. Prof. Liaw currently works at the department of public health and institute of public health, Chung Shan Medical University. Research interests include spatio-temporal mapping of cancer in Taiwan, big data analysis of epidemiology, and precision public health research. The big data used include Taiwan Biobank Database, National Health Insurance Research Database, National Cancer Registry and National Death Database. Their research team constructed a 40-year spatio-temporal cancer map (http://Taiwancancermap.csmu-liawyp.tw/ ) in Taiwan, and also focused on precision public health research related to GWAS, SNP, HLA, and methylation. Currently, they are cooperating with Stanford University in the United States and the University of Tokyo in Japan. Their team are looking forward to cooperating with researchers from all over the world. Work together to explore interesting scientific topics. We sincerely welcome Prof. Costantino Paciolla, from Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Italy, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Nutrition. His recent work focuses on bioactive compounds in vegetables and fruits, antioxidant systems in plants and on shelf-life in horticultural crops in pre- and post-harvest. His research is also carried out in the study of physiological and biochemical changes in agri-foods plants under biotic and abiotic stress. Prof. Paciolla has over 80 scientific articles on prestigious journals and books and is peer-reviewer for international journals ISI indexed.
