About This Topic

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is becoming increasingly promising as a radical treatment for a wide range of diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, aplastic anemia, inborn errors of immunity, metabolic diseases, etc. While it can be life-saving, it carries several risks and complications, both during the transplant process and in the long term. In recent decades, significant progress has been made in patient survival. The risks and complications of bone marrow transplantation (BMT) vary depending on the patient’s age, the underlying condition, the donor type (matched sibling, unrelated donor, or autologous transplant), and the specific treatment regimen used. In order to improve the results of HSCT and predict the occurrence of complications, it is very important to share experiences, features, and evaluation of bone marrow transplantation results in different centers and worldwide.

We invite you to share your experience by submitting publications on the results of your BMT center, as well as cohort studies and literature reviews. Publications may relate to but are not limited to graft-versus-host disease, infections, rejection of the graft, organ toxicity, engraftment syndrome, secondary cancers, osteoporosis, endocrine complications, graft failure), psychosocial issues, and management of complications.

Keywords

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; bone marrow transplantation; complications; graft-versus-host disease; infections; graft failure
