About This Topic

Organ transplantation remains the only effective therapy for patients with end-stage organ failure. The supply of organs of high efficacy and quality has been extremely important in organ transplantation. Organ preservation is essential for maintaining organ viability after procurement and restoring normal function after reperfusion. Over the past decade, there has been a significant advancement in organ preservation technologies. In this special issue, we will focus on the history and current practices of organ preservation, updates on the development of techniques and innovations that have taken place for extended organ preservation, and the opportunities in the field of research for a future horizon of new organ preservation pathways.

Keywords
