Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research Welcomes New Editorial Board Member

We sincerely welcome Dr. Nikiforos Alygizakis from Environmental Institute, Slovakia, Kosice, Slovakia, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. He works with contaminants of emerging concern, which are chemicals that are not regulated and are not included in routine monitoring programs. His research focuses on water quality assessment including antimicrobial resistance, contaminants in ecosystems, and wastewater-based epidemiology. One of his most significant achievements is the creation of the Digital Sample Freezing Platform (https://dsfp.norman-data.eu/), which is a core component of the NORMAN Database System (NDS). Through his publications, he has demonstrated the potential of retrospective suspect screening to revolutionize environmental chemical monitoring. However, his research goes beyond the environment and expands to food and human biomonitoring through the European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC project; https://www.eu-parc.eu/). We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Rohana Adnan from niversiti Sains Malaysia, Minden, Malaysia, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. Currently she is working on regeneration of activated carbon-based adsorbents and visible light active photocatalyst specifically for treating organic and inorganic pollutants in water. She is also interested in host-guest interactions especially that of cyclodextrins for the separation and removal of organic compounds. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. You-Cai Xiong from Lanzhou University, Gansu, China, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. Dr. Youcai Xiong is a second-class professor at Lanzhou University, a leader in the discipline of agroecology and sustainable development, the director of Gansu Dryland Agricultural Equipment Industry Technology Centre, and the director of the Engineering Research Centre of the Ministry of Education for Agriculture and Ecological Restoration in Dry Areas. He was selected as one of the top scientists in the field of botany and agronomy in China (Research.com), a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation under the National High-level Talent Special Support Programme (Ten Thousand Talents Programme), the Ministry of Science and Technology's Innovative Talent Promotion Programme, the Ministry of Education's New Century Outstanding Talent Support Programme, and the first level of Gansu Provincial Leading Talents. He is the chief editor of monographs/teaching materials such as ‘Integrated Research on Water Resource Management in Shiyang River Basin’, ‘Dryland Agroecology’, ‘Farming Technology in Dry Areas under Climate Change’, and holds part-time positions including Editor-in-Chief of Ecology and Diversity, Chairman of Ecology Sub-Alliance of the Belt and Road Universities Alliance, and member of the National Agricultural Surface Pollution Management and Supervision Expert Group, etc. He was awarded the Science Chinese (2012) Person of the Year. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Wen Tong Chong from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. Prof. Ir. Dr. Chong Wen Tong is currently a full professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He is also the Head of UM Centre for Energy Sciences. He joined UM after spending 10 years in various industries, including Dyson and Sony. He is a Chartered Engineer registered by the Engineering Council (UK) since 2014. Prof. Chong’s research interests are Renewable Energy & Green Technology, Wind Turbine Technology, Industrial Aerodynamics and Innovative Product Design. He has co-authored >180 research articles with the H-Index– 51 (WoS). He is the Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Green Energy and Advisory Board Member of the International Journal of Energy Research. He was selected for the 2019 Top Research Scientists Malaysia by the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, and 2020-2024 World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. Prof. Chong has been awarded > MYR 10 million research grants and won > 25 invention and innovation awards in various international innovations & inventions fairs, including iENA (Germany), SIIF (Korea) & WIAC. He also won Second Place in the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Leaders in Innovation Fellowships – Final Pitch Session 2016/17. In 2016; he won the First Prize of National-Intellectual-Property-Award 2016 and WIPO Medal for his invention, Cross-Axis-Wind-Turbine which his team is collaborating with PETRONAS to commercialize it. He is the Conference Chair of the International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Green Technology. In 2023, he was elected as Fellow, Academy of Sciences Malaysia (FASc). Prof. Chong was also appointed as the Chief Juror of the International Innovation Awards in Malaysia Technology Expo, MTE 2023 & 2024. Before joining Federation University Australia, Dr Khandelwal worked as an Assistant Professor of mining engineering at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, India. Dr Khandelwal was a postdoctoral researcher at Monash University, Australia and a Senior Research Fellow at the Central Institute of Mining & Fuel Research, Dhanbad, India. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Tarek Rouissi from Centre Eau Terre Environnement, Quebec, Canada, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. With an engineering degree in food technology, a master's degree in industrial engineering and a doctorate in water science, Professor Rouissi is a multidisciplinary researcher with over 10 years' experience in environmental chemistry and biotechnology, bioremediation, biocomposites and waste reclamation-bioconversion. He has worked in several institutions and held a number of positions, including research professional at UQAC and UQTR, research associate at INRS, research coordinator at CTRI, and recently as innovation director at CRIBIQ. He is currently Associate Professor at Laurentian University, and has been Associate Professor at UQAC and INRS in the past. Prof. Rouissi has co-supervised the work of 5 PhDs, a Master's degree and supervised the work of over 20 graduate students. He is the author/co-author of over 70 scientific publications, and co-inventor of the enzymatic bioremediation technology patented by INRS's Centre Eau Terre Environnement. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Xianbo Zhao from CQUniversity Australia, Sydney, NSW, Australia, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. Dr. Zhao joined Central Queensland University in 2014. He holds Bachelor and Master qualifications in construction management from Southeast University (China), and a PhD degree in building awarded by the National University of Singapore (NUS). Dr. Zhao has been conducting research into the issues surrounding the management of civil and building construction and built environment. Dr. Zhao has led or participated in research projects relating to enterprise risk management, risk prediction techniques, risk network evolution, political risk management in international construction and safety risk. Dr. Zhao has also investigated the issues relating to diffusion of innovative technologies (e.g., BIM, 3D printing, machine learning, etc.) in the building and construction sector as well as sustainable construction. Dr. Zhao was selected as Australia’s Top Researcher in the field of architecture and one of the Rising Stars of Research in the field of sustainable development in The Australian’s Research Magazine in 2021. He was among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the field of Building & Construction compiled by Stanford University in 2020-2024. At CQUniversity, he received Vice-Chancellor’s and Dean’s Awards for Outstanding Researchers in 2021 and Publication Recognition Awards in 2017-2019. He received the Excellent Paper Award at the 19th International Symposium on the Advancement of Construction Management and Real Estate (CRIOCM2014) and Merit Paper Award at the 27th and 29th International Symposium on the Advancement of Construction Management and Real Estate (CRIOCM2022 and 2024). We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Chow Ming Fai from Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, MONASH UNIVERSITY, MALAYSIA, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. Ir. Ts. Gs. Dr. Chow Ming Fai is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Discipline of the School of Engineering, Monash University Malaysia. His research interests are mainly focus on (i) Sustainable urban stormwater management, (ii) hydrological & water quality modeling, (iii) flood forecasting and inundation modeling and (iv) hydropower and dam management. He completed bachelor degree of civil engineering and PhD degree from University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) in 2007 and 2012, respectively. Since then, he had worked in Academia Sinica, Taiwan and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). To date, he had successfully secured five government grants (3 FRGS and 1 PRGS from Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, 1 chair in energy economics (GCEE) grant from Energy Commission Malaysia) and 1 industry grant from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) as project leader. He had obtained the professional engineer (Ir.), chartered engineer (CEng.), professional technologist (Ts) and professional geospatialist recognitions. In 2015, Dr. Chow was awarded the Green Talent award by German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for his excellent in sustainability research. Besides that, he was awarded the Outstanding Young Academician Award (category research & publication) 2016 and Excellent Teaching Award 2019 by Universiti Tenaga Nasional. He has been involved in many consultancy projects with clients from TNB, TNBR, Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia (DID) and Lembaga Kemajuan Pertanian Muda (MADA). Ir. Ts. Gs. Dr. Chow is currently inviting potential postgraduate students (research) to join the water research group in Monash University Malaysia. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Hanuman Singh Jatav from Department of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, India, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research. Dr. Hanuman Singh Jatav is a distinguished Assistant Professor with over 6 years of teaching and research experience in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry. He specializes in Soil Fertility Management, Sewage Sludge, Biochar, Micronutrients, and Heavy Metals. Dr. Jatav completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan, and went on to earn his M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry from the prestigious Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Dr. Jatav has emerged as a prominent researcher, consistently contributing to environmental sustainability and advancing scientific knowledge in his field. His work, which focuses on sustainable soil and plant health management, has been widely recognized. To date, he has published over 120 papers, including research papers, review articles, books, book chapters, and technical papers in renowned national and international journals and with esteemed publishers. He has held key editorial roles, serving as an Academic Editor and subject expert for several leading publishers, including Springer, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, Frontiers, PLOS One, MDPI, IWA, CSIRO, HINDAWI, CARJ, JEB, and ICAR Journals, where he has been actively involved for the past 8 years. In addition, Dr. Jatav is a member of more than 15 national and international scientific societies, further solidifying his influence in the academic community.
