About This Topic
In addition to pleasure, the main purpose of food is to provide nutrients that nourish our body, and meet all our needs to prevent disease. The modern lifestyle requires increased activity and resistance to stress, which results in a significant demand for certain nutrients. The global use of dietary supplements and foods with long shelf-life is unfortunately on the rise. While the use of supplements is ubiquitous, the quality of research showing their health benefits leaves much to be desired. Often, the potential health benefits of using these products are offset by their insufficient quality. Currently, more and more research on food focuses on ensuring its high quality, which will ensure health safety for consumers. We encourage to submit original and review articles for this special issue on topics related to food, healthy eating or dietary supplementation, with particular emphasis on human health.
