He received several awards for his research and served as a Principal Investigator in numerous research projects in the US and Europe. He authored over 250 scientific publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings, several book-chapters and edited books, and six patents. He served as a member of the Euratom Scientific and Technical Committee, the Advisory Board of the Euratom Supply Agency and is senior advisor to the DG of the International Atomic Energy Agency (United Nations).
